The Power of Access Control
You
determine Who, What, When, Where, Why and How
AFA’s state-of-the-art access control systems allow you to determine
who is entering where or what area in your facility, when, why and how. For
the ultimate in customizable systems, AFA procures the latest in access control
equipment from a variety of proven, yet innovative, vendors and manufacturers.
Audit trails for tracking data and providing accountability are an integral
part of most systems, and as with other AFA systems, integration with other
building controls is easy to achieve.
A Sampling of System Features
AFA’s access control systems can handle from one to over 31,000 card
readers and more than 75,000 users per system. Access is fully programmable
and restricted using magnetic door locks or electric door strike locks card
readers and user identifiers, which may be proximity cards or Wiegand cards,
bar code, magnetic stripe, or in more sophisticated applications, a range of
biometric devices, all of which are supervised by the system.
Easy-to-use but sophisticated system command centers support
almost any language and guide you through step-by-step user
instructions. They can be seamlessly integrated in facility
monitoring centers with other building control systems, providing
one-point monitoring through interactive bitmaps of multi-layer
floor plans.
AFA access control systems offer the following features
in varying configurations: support for 16-32 bit applications
and Windows 98, NT and 2000; LAN capabilities; optional floor
plan graphics with mapping features; audit trails of system
activity; card activation/deactivation by day, month and
year; and text or video databases of authorized users.
Systems are also capable of video imaging and card badging,
including the input of logos, signatures, photos and bar
codes for easy employee and visitor badging; remote site
management for control of your premises when you are away;
guard tours; and lock/unlock programming and status notifications
for any access point, including doors, turnstiles, elevators
and gates.
A Sampling of Management Benefits
With such a range of AFA system features, facility managers enjoy greater control,
which translates to increased security and safety for personnel and asset.
Managers find that: elimination of keys is a joy; effectiveness of manpower
is increased; pre-scheduled opening and closing reports provide higher security
and a useful audit trail of business hours; restricted opening and closing
information helps determine the length of time outside contract companies or
visitors have been at the premises; distinguishing between actual alarms and
trouble conditions reduces the costly need to wait for service technicians;
zoned alarm areas promptly display at the command centers calling attention
to greater problems. |
